picked

A Profound alternative with the price on the page

The best Profound alternative depends on why you're leaving. If you want a public price and no sales call, Picked starts at $89 a month and writes the article for a prompt you lose on Growth and Scale. For analytics on a set price, Peec AI. For the cheapest start, Otterly.AI. If you run a big brand in many countries and want agents that publish to your CMS, Profound may still be the right tool.

Picked is an AI visibility tool for SEO and marketing agencies, and B2B SaaS teams. Every day it asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI answers the prompts your buyers ask, records which brands and pages they name, and writes the article built to become the source they quote.

  • 7 days

  • $399

The short answer

Which Profound alternative should you pick?

Every tool here asks AI models your buyers' questions and records who gets named and which pages the answers cite. Profound does more than most around that: content agents, prompt volume data, shopping results. What it doesn't do is sell a brand a plan without a demo.

Buying

How do you buy Profound, and how do you buy Picked?

  1. Profound, for a brand

Two options on the pricing page. A free trial: 50 prompts, run daily for 7 days, on ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews, with a recommended prompt set you can't edit and limited AI Marketer credits. Then Enterprise: a custom package, priced through a demo. Both have unlimited seats.

  2. Picked

Three plans with the price on the page, bought there, and the first run starts as soon as you pay:

  • Starter

    Price a month
    $89
    Prompts

Seats are unlimited on every plan, yearly billing is ten months' price for twelve, and the first payment can be refunded in full within 3 days. Picked has no trial: the free AI visibility check shows what two AI models say about your brand before you pay.

Per-seat pricing is a tax on agencies.
Profound's brand plans have unlimited seats, but its self-serve agency plan comes with 5. An agency's AI visibility work touches account managers, writers, SEOs and the client. Picked has unlimited team seats on every plan: you pay for prompts and AI models, the things that cost us money.

AI models

Which AI models does each one ask?

  1. Profound

The trial asks ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews. Enterprise can ask up to 9: ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, DeepSeek, Claude, Google AI Overviews and Exa Search, with languages and regions set per contract.

  2. Picked

You choose 2 (Starter) or 4 (Growth and Scale) from ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. None costs extra. ChatGPT, Gemini, AI Overviews and AI Mode are read as the real product shows them to a person; Perplexity and Claude through their APIs with web search on. Claude is asked less often than the others, because its answers cost more to fetch.

  3. The gap

Picked doesn't ask Copilot, DeepSeek or Exa, and asks from the US in English only.

Content

Profound's Agents vs Picked's articles

Both write. They're built differently.

Profound's Agents are a workflow builder: drag steps together (scraping, model prompts, Profound's own data, API calls), start from templates such as net-new articles, content refresh or FAQ generation, and run them across hundreds of inputs at once with Sheets. Every run has an approval step, and agents publish to your CMS. They run on credits, and past the trial's limited credits the amount is set in your Enterprise package.

Picked's articles are one fixed recipe, run for a prompt you lose. On Growth and Scale:

  1. 1

    Research

Picked reads the pages the AI models cited for the prompt, Google's top results and your own site.

  2. 2

    Brief

An angle, an outline, the facts it will use and the competitors it will name. You approve or edit it before any writing.

  3. 3

    Draft and rewrite pass

The first sentence answers the prompt in words a model can quote whole; a second pass flags lines that read like AI and rewrites them, and you approve each one.

  4. 4

    Fact-check

A claim with no source on your site or a public page is cut, with a note.

  5. 5

    Pull request

Picked opens it on your site's GitHub repository, you review and merge. Not on GitHub? Export it as Markdown or HTML.

If your team wants to build its own content machine, Profound's builder does more. If you want a set number of sourced articles a month at a known price, with nothing live until you merge, that's Picked. The steps are in how Picked writes an article.

For agencies

Is Picked a Profound alternative for an agency?

Profound's self-serve agency plan, Agency Growth, gives you 10 pitch workspaces a month (25 prompts for 7 days, to audit a prospect) and 5 agency seats. Each client is a workspace added at $399 a month: 100 prompts, daily, on ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, with 400 agent credits a month. The pricing page doesn't show the plan's base price.

On Picked Scale, $499 a month covers 5 brands sharing 350 prompts on 4 AI models, 25 articles a month, and white-label client reports: the month as a three-page PDF in your agency's name, logo and colour, with Picked's name nowhere on it. The whole team gets a login.

5 clients on Profound is 5 × $399 a month in workspaces before the base plan. On Picked it's one Scale plan, with fewer prompts per client (350 shared across them against 100 each). Past 5 clients, Profound's Agency Enterprise is built for dozens; Picked isn't yet. More on AI visibility for agencies.

When Picked isn't the right Profound alternative

  1. You track many countries or languages

Picked asks every question from the US in English. Profound sets languages and regions per contract.

  2. You want your own content workflows

Profound's Agent Builder and Sheets let a team design and run its own workflows at volume and publish to a CMS. Picked runs one article recipe, published through GitHub or an export.

  3. You need enterprise paperwork

Profound offers SSO, SAML, SOC 2 compliance, an API and full history exports. Picked has none of those yet.

  4. You need the bigger data sets

Prompt Volumes (what people ask AI engines), ChatGPT Shopping and Copilot, DeepSeek and Exa aren't in Picked.

  5. You manage dozens of clients

Picked Scale covers 5 brands. Profound's Agency Enterprise is sold for networks.

How we checked

  • Profound: its pricing page, brand and agency tabs, and its Agents page, read on September 30, 2026. The Agency Growth base price wasn't on the page, so we don't quote one.
  • Picked: its own pricing page.
  • Peec AI, Otterly.AI, Semrush, Ahrefs: their pricing pages, read on September 29 and 30, 2026, monthly billing.
  • Not tested: we didn't buy Profound's Enterprise plan or run the same prompts on both. This compares what each vendor states. We make Picked, so read the tables, not our adjectives.
